2025 JET NATIONALS
Edited by Wayne Matthews
The 2025 Jet Aerobatics Nationals was held in Russellville Kentucky at the Logan county Airport on August 21- 24. Pilots competed in the 5 classes that were offered. Archie Stafford was the Contest Director and he was assisted by Wayne Matthews. We had Toby Silhavy coming down to handle the Score-keeping duties and also to introduce us to the future of wireless scoring using hand held units by the judges, hopefully, we can use these in the 2026 Nationals.
The event went smoothly with the weather cooperating during the entire week. On Saturday, quite a few spectators turned out to observe what Jet Aerobatics was about as the local media, including the TV station came out previously, filmed a segment, and promoted the event. We also had Steve Johnson who flies a MX2 in full scale competition putting on a demo flight of his sequence for the crowd. In addition, Archie fired up his CARF B-2 bomber, loaded it with condiments for the kids and did a precise candy drop for them. It was well received by the kids!
We all had a great time in Russellville and the staff at the airport opened up a HUGE brand new hangar for us to store, recharge and secure our jets for the entire week.
The results and photos are listed below.
